Gua Sha

Gua Sha therapy uses a smooth edged tool to create friction on the surface of the body.  The friction created heat and increases the blood flow to the area of stimulation. By doing this, the heat is released from the superficial tissues in the form of SHA, or small red marks (ecchymosis). The marks will fade in 2-7 days. It is used to treat a wide range of issues including upper respiratory infections, headache, sore throat, asthma, abdominal pain and sunstroke.
