Meet the Acupuncturist

Abby Gehlhausen, MSAOM, L.Ac, LMP

Education and Background

Abby is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from one of the world’s leading centers in natural medicine, Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. She is licensed in the state of Colorado as well as being a nationally certified Diplomate of Acupuncture by the NCCAOM. While in school for her acupuncture degree, she also earned her massage license from Bellevue School of Massage with the desire to have a deeper understanding of the human body through hands on experience. She is licensed in Colorado as a massage practitioner and uses her skills in conjunction to her acupuncture treatments to provide more expansive healing. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, she earned her B.A in Sociology from the University of Washington while competing for the swim team.

Abby’s strong love and devotion for acupuncture developed while she was a competitive swimmer long before committing to her education in the subject. The medicine taught her the importance of balance in all aspects of life in order to achieve true, lasting health. Acupuncture provided a modality to stay healthy during the cold, wet winters in the Pacific Northwest, as well as healing from the repetitive injuries that plagued her during her swimming career.

Licensed in both Acupuncture and Massage Therapy, Abby is devoted to working with each patient on an individual basis, providing a gentle and effective treatment plan tailored to the needs of the patient. She strives not only to provide the best treatment plan, but also to educate the patient so their understanding in involvement will deepen the healing process.
